This rating exists to demonstrate the different levels of efficiency throughout the Accumulair filter line. MERV stands for Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value. It is a number from a test method designed by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
